A keyframe holds until the next one
Layers. Each subject you want as its own matte gets a layer: add one with + layer, then click or box that subject while it is selected. Every layer renders and downloads separately.
Refine. On a finished job, add or move a keyframe and press Refine: only the frames that keyframe governs re-render, and only those are billed.
EXR. Downloads come as PNG or half-float premultiplied EXR; the Nuke panel (Account → API tokens) pulls them straight into a Read node.
Type it first. Describing what to isolate — "man", "window", "red car" — works better than the + / − markers. Use clicks only to correct a near-miss: left adds, right excludes, shift-click removes.
